The Southampton Town Board accepted a generous offer by Southampton Hospital to help fund the maintenance and special events schedule at the Good Ground Park amphitheater in Hampton Bays. The Hospital has offered to donate $5,000.00 annually over a ten year period to help sponsor the park’s amphitheater and its performances.
“This generous donation shows Southampton Hospital continues to be a good neighbor to our community,” said Southampton Town Supervisor Jay Schneiderman.
Good Ground Park opened in June and this summer alone the amphitheater is hosting more than 10 FREE community concerts and other entertainment. The Town of Southampton’s Parks and Recreation Department pays for the programming but this donation will help defray some of the costs of entertainment and the upkeep of the amphitheater. “We are thrilled the Hospital has chosen to help sponsor the amphitheater,” said Parks Director Kristen Doulos. “The annual donation will supplement our budget and help us bring first rate entertainment to our community,” said Doulos.
“Southampton Hospital is delighted to be the first community sponsor of the new Good Ground Park in Hampton Bays, said Hospital President and CEO, Robert S. Chaloner. “As the largest employer on the South Fork, we take our community involvement and commitment very seriously. Our primary mission is to provide first class health care to the residents and visitors in the communities that we service. An important part of this vision is “recreational and wellness health,” so sponsoring programs at Good Ground Park is a good fit for us.”
